The Soul Arch Photo story.

While on a surf trip in 2004, Matt’s surf guide took surf photos of the group. Everyone was stoked to see and purchase photos of themselves surfing! Matt seized on a great opportunity and started Soul Arch Surf Photography.

At the time of that surf trip Matt was working as a CPA for a large finance company. In that environment it was a challenge to find the time to get in a surf session, let alone start a photography business. So Matt did what anyone in that situation would do....he quit his job, loaded a Toyota 4Runner with everything he would need, and drove from Los Angeles to Costa Rica, to establish the headquarters of Soul Arch Photo.

This season marks the 3rd year that he has been living and working full time in Nosara, Costa Rica as a surf photographer. Today, as it has been since the beginning, Matt focuses primarily on the everyday surfer with the hope of sending them home from Costa Rica with amazing images of them surfing in a beautiful place.
